Papier D'Armenie | 'Tradition' Candle
THE CREATION OF PAPIERS D'ARMENIE ®
The history of Papier d'Arménie® begins in the 19th century. During a trip to Armenia, Auguste Ponsot noticed that the inhabitants perfumed and disinfected their homes by burning Benzoin. Seduced by this practice, he decided to import this product into France. His partner, the pharmacist Henri Rivier, then discovered that by dissolving Benzoin in 90° alcohol, he obtained a persistent odor.
Adding perfume gives a pleasant and long-lasting aromatic mixture. All that remains is to find a support. This will be the blotting paper which absorbs the mixture while retaining the original smell of Benzoin and burns slowly without making a flame. Papier d'Arménie® offers this Vintage box, inspired by the 1900 box and the graphic style of the time, containing 6 Tradition notebooks. The historical visual testifies to the antiquity of Papier d'Arménie® and recalls the medals and diplomas won by the brand since 1885. A journey through time, the ideal gift for all lovers of our famous notebooks.
True to the Papier d'Arménie® spirit, the Tradition candle is close to the olfactory universe of the legendary notebook. Scents with sweet, vanilla and balsamic notes reminiscent of the scents of the Orient. Vegetable wax, cotton wick, approximately 220 gr for more than 50 hours of combustion.
